I'm going to second wCat's rec....meetup.com. If you can't find something to do on there, you have more serious issues than can be handled on the c-d forum.
My co-worker (I told her life's story in another thread so won't repeat) but she is now dating someone she met at a meetup. Both are college-educated, very vivacious people. She's cute as a button, which doesn't hurt either.
Good luck--she's late 20's, but it shouldn't matter....I'm sure you can meet like-minded people through meetup.
