These little dogs have been running around the neighborhood...i dont know if they belong to anyone or if they were just dumped here. Im hoping the owner will come claim them before they get picked up by ACS. I would take them in but I am already a dogmom to two mini poodles and they are a handful.

They appear to be Jack Russel mixes...maybe chihuahua. Both females. the one with the pointy ears is very skittish. The one with dropped ears seems more friendly. I threw out some food (probably bad idea cause now they are gonna linger around) so I could get a picture.

If these are yours please come get them... or if you want to provide a home they are in the Chestnut Springs Subdivision...roaming around.

My fear is that there is a lot of construction going on and lots of big trucks that may not see these small dogs.

Oh and yes one has a collar but there are no tags...so either they were removed, fell off, or the collar was for looks.

unfortunately, acs will probably never pick up those dogs loose dogs in san antonio tend to just run free until someone takes them in or they get hit by a car. we've called acs a number of times about stray dogs, and the only time they seem to come out is to pick up the carcasses (which is often, unfortunately).

sorry to be such a downer! it's just sad, i see so many loose dogs and a lot of them are quite nice. i hope you can find the owner or find them a new home. they're quite cute and look well cared for.

The skittish one looks like a fox terrior, possible a "toy". I have two of them. They are skittish by nature.

I hope that they have just gotten out and their owner is searching for them. I know, wishful thinking
They sure are cute little ones. Wish I could help you out.

see if you can lure miss skittish and friend into your back yard. Then you can get her into a crate or your arms to car much easier after a day or 2 of getting used to the place. Then off to the shelter.
Animal defense league may be able to give you a hand. We adopted our dog there and they are very friendly and helpful.

have you posted signs with that picture and your # in your area? That could help.

good luck to you and those cute dogs.

Careful about housing stray pets, SA ACS will not pick them up if you have had them in your possesion for more than a couple of days. They consider them your dogs at that point. You will have to take them to in and surrender them for which they will charge you. Had that almost happen to me before Christmas last year. Found a dog running around the neighborhood when it was real cold, my wife being the big hearted animal lover decided we should take her in. We called ACS but they wouldn't stated they would not be able to take the dog for a few days. About 4 days (approx.) later the guy who came by to get the dog tried to give me a hassle since she was in my back yard. He eventually took the dog when I told him my whole story. But the warning has stayed with me.

Did you try craigslist? I'd post them there, you might even find someone willing to help you catch them and help them if no one claims them.
