I'm looking for unfinished reducer. Lowes doesn't carry it (only finished to match certain manufacturers they carry). Does anyone know where this stuff can be found? Either a wood store, or flooring supply store? I'd really like it unfinished so I can stain it to match the flooring I'm installing. Thanks a bunch.

I googled it and it shows it available at Lowes (online at least).

Going there tomorrow since it shows up as available at the Blanco / 1604 location. Somehow I must've missed it when I was there yesterday to pick up a last board puller. For anybody else doing this work on their own I highly recommend the last board puller from Lowes over the Home Depot one. The HD one is made in China and was bent while cold. I can tell this because after a couple of hits with a rubber mallet the 1/4 inch steel snaps as easy as breaking a potato chip. The one at Lowes is formed correctly (won't break) and as an added bonus it costs about $4 less and is made here.

This molding is holding up the whole show here - I can't measure and cut the last row (where it interfaces with carpet) because I don't know the size of the molding going in there.

So if you know how to get their site to tell you whether they sell transition molding from wood to carpet in an unfinished or stain it yourself variety... I'm contacting the other two places as well because I really need to get this done this weekend.

How's the remodel going Steve? I'm a FEMALE interior designer ...I'd be glad to pass on a few tips! But you have to put the hammer down first!

Pretty well - the flooring is nearly done. I'm working on the last row of wood flooring this afternoon and will pull all 200sqft up that aren't glued down and do that tomorrow. May not go with molding at all with the carpet interface since it's such a thick carpet / padding. I'm still weighing my options and probably won't decide until this afternoon, but it seems like a lot of houses don't have a molding unless there's a big height difference...

The dining room is completely done, baseboards put back on and furniture is back in. If I had pics at work (and u-verse worked at home) I could post some. Living room I'm switching out the window treatments soon but still need to finish one row of flooring where it meets the bedroom. It won't be complete until I can find a way to get this 200+lb entertainment center back in somehow anyway.

I'll probably post some pictures tomorrow or sooner if AT&T gets over to my place to replace the bad 2wire gateway box early this afternoon.
