My employer was going to have a clinic come in and offer the Seasonal flu vaccine to those who wanted it, but they had to cancel due to a shortage of the Seasonal vaccine. They didn't mention anything about the H1N1, but I wasn't going to get that one anyway, because I'm not in one of the so-called "high risk" groups.

I spoke to someone from Metro Health and they told me that the didnt expect to get the H1N1 vaccine until around November. Not sure if that is going to be accurate still since it seems their info changes quite often.

As for me, I dont think I will get my kids the vaccine and I am still debating whether to get them the seasonal flu shot.

I am anxiously waiting for the base to get it. Right now they are reporting late November. I am 34 weeks pregnant, I am hoping I can get it ASAP!

Remember guys, if you already got the nose spray as opposed to the traditional shot, you're already covered.

Anyways, if your scared of the h1n1 vaccine for not being tested, you probably don't know how a vaccine actually works. Its not a medicine that can have possible side effects. Its a dosage of either weakened or dead strains of the virus. That way, your immune system learns how to deal with it. If your saying that it hasn't been tested enough, you probably wouldn't want the seasonal flu vaccine either as its a new version every year with different strains in it.

I'm not in a high risk category so I think I'm going to hold off until the people who really need it get it.

People who are dying are dying from pre-existing conditions, so I'll let those with the pre-existing conditions get their shot before, I, without any conditions get one.

It's like having a second piece of cake when someone else hasn't had any yet. It's just not fair, nor nice. Or, at least that's the way I see it.

As of Oct 15th, the whole state of Texas only got 142,400 doses. They are expecting more in this week. I have been hearing it won't be readily available until late November.

That's all? Well I guess the high risk groups had better line up first.
