Sorry, but this bugs me.

Don't end a sentence w/ the word 'at'. " What's the best neighborhood to trick or treat at."
I see and hear this so much. Come on people.

It is NEVER OK Not to report a Crime. Wellguy is right, (What you Saw, Heard, or Know for Sure) the people who strive to protect and serve have your best interest at heart.
INFORMATION provided by citizens is essential to the investigation of Crimes.

Well said, Joe Joe. Neighborhood tagging is horrible and costly, and tagging homes is utterly despicable!

Always look here for happenings and see this is pretty old thread. Funny how people think ,this was fun to read.

I don't think it is necessarily the "best" area to trick or treat but more so the most fun. You can have a nice area where people are generous and snooty at same time when allowing "others" in to trick or treat and you totally defeat the purpose of trick or treating. Nobody is forcing you to open your door and if this really bothers one then they should move to the boonies or gated area. We live in nice area however our surrounding area doesn't have too many kids and tends to have older folks so we will look elsewhere.

The absolute best Halloween(besides when I was a kid) was a few years back when we were in Vegas for a reunion and most of my family were busy at the casinos so we kinda took a spontaneous walk from where we were staying. We just ventured out. We were living in Alaska at that time and were use to trick or treating being a run as fast as you can to the door since that was always the one day that started the blizzards. We just walked and didn't know where we were going then we saw a lady in witch costume in a huge sprawled out house call us over and she was so happy to see us as she said no one stops by so she stands out in front. We talked with her for a hour she was so cool and gave kids some nice treats. We moved along to a neighborhood that was like a newer one that surrounded a school and it was still early so we just went with it. Well, this was "the" neighborhood every few houses had mini haunted houses and suddenly kids started showing up it was by far the most fun time for my kids til this day.

So, to me , is not about the largest candy I can buy those myself, it is about the action and experience. I don't go to the areas here in SA with big houses as it means longer walks, I go to the ones with movement and scary attractions in the yards. We could care less about the candy, well ok we won't turn down good little chocolates...

That depends on your neighborhood. Some are simply not a good place to TOT in. The homes are on large lots and spread out, there are no sidewalks, too rural, etc.

I'm sure places with high density housing (Stone Oak, Alamo Ranch, etc) are the best options.

I remember an old joke about that. I will probably get banned forever but here it goes.

A kid from Texas gets a scholarship for Harvard. He is walking around the campus and sees an Ivy league dude out for a stroll. He walks up to him and asks him. "Can you tell me where the library is at?" The reply was. "We at HARVARD don't end our sentences with a preposition!" He replied. " Ok can you tell me where the library is at *******!!!"

I'm happy that it seems that the majority of the kids who showed up at our house were actually kids from the neighborhood. Not other neighborhoods.
