The South Texas Marksmanship Training Center stages fun competitions every month, for rifle (hi-power, vintage milsurp, and smallbore) and pistol. For more information, please attend their meetings the first Thursday each month at the San Pedro Church of Christ, behind Grady's BBQ. STMTC also sponsors junior shooting teams, and provides firearms for new shooters to try out at matches.

My boys are in town so we went to "A Place to Shoot" near Mitchell Lake (Bird Sanctuary) The range has been there at least half a century. I can't recall the original name now. My BIL and SIL , my two sons and myself went. We went Thursday it was so nice and cool!! Facing east, the sun breathing down our necks and backs. We were doing a slow roast. They close at 7m we should have gone at 9:PM it would have been cooler. We just shot the place up for about an hour and a half. We took a Mosin Nagant M91/30 7.62X54R and a Remington 30-06 mod742 and a couple pistols. Blah!
I wished I'd stayed home. Could have saved a a headache and ringing ears.

Cheers! M2
You'll be the ones that look a year older, correct?

And don't think this is only for gun enthusiasts, there are a variety of other venders there, to include jewelry makers and cosmetics, and last month my wife spent more money there than I did!

This month I am on my own, she and the kids are visiting her family!

Cheers! M2
I hope they have that .38 Special with the Ivory handle and four golden eagles. I am just drooling over the thought... Might be tempted to bring it home.

Default Quick question about the gun show this weekend.

Howdy, I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer. How much do they charge for entry for adults? Do they charge for children? Parking? Thanks for any info.

Parking is $3. Military discount of $1, but as BearCounty said adults $5, kids $1.

Picked up some TAPCO mags for my SKS for $15 w/tax, and a bipod for $20. There were some deals if you looked around a bit!

Cheers! M2

Have prices come down from what they were a few months ago?
