So I am a huge fan of real trees at Christmas, but do to traveling and other things this year, we may have to break down and get an artificial one. I was curious if anyone had any advice as to where you can get a nice one without spending a fortune? Thanks in advance!

Seriously - if you don't need to see and touch it before - deals on the Internet are usually the best

So true. No matter how good the before Christmas deals on holiday merchandise get, they're never as good as the deals to be found after Christmas.

If you can't wait that long, I'd recommend looking at Wal-Mart. They seem to have a good selection of artificial trees every year.

Thanksgiving day at Gardenridge. That's where I got mine a couple years ago. Maybe not quite day after Christmas prices, but awfully close. The ad will be in the Thanksgiving day EN along with about 100 other ads for Black Friday.

Lowes' and The Home Depot can have good deals also. Last year we purchased one at Lowes' since my wife wanted a Slim Tree. It was a great price in the store but the same one on line was approx $30.00. less. I printed the page and Lowes' @ 1604 and Culebra honored that price.

I hate fake xmas trees. Nothing compares to the real deal. I like the smell of a real tree.

Try craig's list or garage sales. Even Goodwill has trees. I have a white tree I bought a few years back for less than $10 that was in pristine condition. Also, eBay has deals sometimes. I wanted an aluminum tree and finally found one there. We still buy a real tree and use it for the 'main attraction'.

I hear you, eagle7. Something about having a real tree inside just makes it seem right. However, I know some people are allergic to Christmas trees, so sometimes they don't have a choice. And others just don't like dealing with the needles, etc.

Thanks everybody! I also prefer real trees too, the smell of the tree is so awesome. We just have to travel a lot between now and Januaray and won't be able to take care of it so its fake or no tree at all and I can't do no tree at all! You all have given me some great places to look and check out. Thank you so much!
