we do all the above mentioned things, and more, thru out the season, not just over 2-3 weeks...

as great as my parents were, they never made Christmas "magical" for us...my inlaws even less for my husband...the last thing i want is for my kids to grow up and have to strain for great Christmas memories...

so yeah, i do try to bring Christmas into the house early...but I love trying to stretch that magic out for as long as I can...
No need to apologize for your opinion and the lengths in which you go to celebrate. I'm not apologizing for mine!

I don't do Christmas over 2-3 weeks. As I mentioned, I begin the day after Thanksgiving and I begin to remove things after January 1, slowly. By January 5, it's all put away. That's 6 whole weeks. Plenty for us (myself, my husband, and kids ages 4 yrs and 1 1/2 yrs)...and I'm proud to say, it's a pretty "magical" 6 weeks at that.

What gets me is the really "efficient" neighbors who are ready for Christmas at a moment's notice. As in, their lights stay up year round.

Seriously, Santa should ban their homes from the route.

Lol...

Whether it's called Christmas or Holidays it rarely has much to do with Christ, and much more to do with capitalism and blind consumerism.

Political correctness + what happened last week = tangent

Completely agree with you,
in Latinamerica is all about "baby Jesus" being born
everybody makes a huge nativity and on Dec. 24th at midnight people put baby Jesus in the nativity to symbolize that Jesus has been born.

I constantly hear about people saying that Christmas is about Christ, but I don't see any of them making a nativity to celebrate it.
