I am buying a new computer online and would like someone here locally to set it up for me. Is there a company that does this that someone has had personal experience with and will you give your input?

What do you mean by "setting up"? Just putting the parts together or installing software?

It's very easy, you can most likely do it yourself.

I think when you get the computer new you have all these CDs that you need to start inputting... I am not sure. However I appreciate your input and will give it a try. I just feel like a computer failure!

There shouldn't be any cd's. You just plug everything in and turn it on. The only thing you will need to install would be for your internet but you can call tech support (YUCK, I know) and they will walk you thru it.

If my mom can do it, you can do it.

Most of the devices connections are color coded so you know where to plug them in, its usually very simple and you should get a map that walks you thru the process, like it was said before, shoot me a PM if you get stuck on anything.

Oh I dunno. The Geek Squad will "optimize" your computer and make sure everything works "as intended." For a fee, of course. Has anyone seen the "optimized" open-box items at Best Buy? I saw a laptop at a (redacted) store a few weeks ago. It was priced as open-box, but had a nifty service charge (from the Squad) added to the price, making it the same amount as a new machine.
