I am thinking of relocating to texas, I currently live in washington, and am wondering what hospital in the san antonio area is the best to work for. My husbands brother lives in a small town sw of san antonio. I don't want to live in the city though. I would like to raise my kids in the country. Simpler life you know. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I would also like to get an idea how much RN's make there. I have been a nurse for over 5 years and have ED and CCU experience. thanks again!

There are many hospitals in SA, the medical Center area has 5 or 6, all within a few blocks of each other. Now there is a movement to build new hospitals in other areas. Depending on what area you move into, there will be a hospital nearby that I am sure will need an ED or ICU nurse. I don;t know anything about salaries. All the hospitals pay about the same. Some, like Bpatist System may have a relocation package. Look into that.

A long time ago I used to work in hospitals in S.A. I never worked in one I'd want to stay at long-term, so can't help you there. This wasn't a very well-paying area then in hospitals...I've heard the pay is better now, but don't know how much nurses make now. S.A. in general is not an area that has very many well-paying jobs overall.

Hospitals in S.A.
Baptist Health System
University Health System
Santa Rosa Hospitals
Methodist Hospitals
Nix Healthcare

I couldn't find a website that had reviews on hospitals but maybe one of those association/certification websites have forums or message board that have folks you can network with or using the city-data careers thread or something like it.
