My wife was kind enough to pick up a burger for me this evening (I've been kinda dragging ever since my H1N1 shot yesterday!), and I have to say it was pretty dang good! I got the Texas Smashburger minus cheese and with a fried egg on top. It was a bit greasy, but delicious! it isn't the kind of meal I can eat too often (I'm trying to lose a little weight) but I would most definitely go back!

Still, with Five Guys now open, my favorite Bobby J's (RIP, Bobby!), as well as BigZ and several other places, there are many great choices for burgers on the NW side.

Cheers! M2

I'd rather eat a Smash Burger than most chain restaurants.

Alright, any of you Moderator cut: see comment, substitute "people" try the Smashburger that opened today (and for a special few, yesterday) on Potranco yet?

Funny you should ask....I went by there today and got the Texas Smashburger and fries. The only comments I have are that they should use a milder onion and I didn't like the herbal-tasting fries. Off to 5 guys.

So, tonight might be a good night to go to Freddy's? With Smashburger and 5 Dudes just opening up, maybe nobody's gonna wanna go to the "old" place.

Prolly...but Smashburger beats Freddy's. And apparently, 5 Guys beats Smashburger. So, if you want the bottom of the pile.....

Heee heee! Yeah, I was just thinkin' that since there's only 3 kids at home tonight, I could go thru the drive thru and pick it up for them. THEY haven't tried the other 2 so don't know they'd be at the bottom of the pile , and any time I'll let them eat "fast food" is a treat to them! LOL!!!

edit ~ scratch that! Just remembered that they got to eat at Fuddruckers the other night. Ugh, nevermind. Darn, my attempts at an "easy" dinner night might well be squashed.

I wasn't all that impressed with Freddy's, but with Smashburger & 5 Guys opening up here in town I'm glad they got some competition. This city is about to gain a few inches next time they do one of those "fattest cities in the US" survey's.

Just went to Smashburger on Potranco and I did not like it at all. Fries with the mystery spices were not appealing to me and the burger was just ok. Five Guys was better for me. The fries and burger have to be both finger lickin good. Smashburger gets 2 1/2 out of 5 jalapenos for my critique. Your mileage may vary as taste buds differ by individual.
