Agreed, the original Cheesy Jane's on Broadway wasn't bad; but their expansion locations didn't quite achieve the same level.

Of course, we do have a new BigZ on 151 and there's always the outstanding Bobby J's just outside of 1605 in Helotes; so there are still a few good burger joints in the NW.

Know (Acquainted with) the owner of Smash Burger. Several months ago, I offered to let him read the pluses and minuses of Smash Burger posted on the Forum. I think it is an unbiased and broad based assessment of many subjects.

He rather rudely informed me that he had marketing people and did not need to read nor heed such postings.

I never went back, I see others share my view. Too bad he could not see past his newly purchased designer sun glasses.

I can confirm this. Noticed it closed a few weeks ago. More recently, the storefront has been painted red and an HEB Plus sign installed on the facade. Perhaps a hiring or training center for the soon to be opened HEB behind it?

Was there yesterday - the store next to the old Cheesy Jane's has been turned into a training center. Not sure if that expands (or was part of) CJ's.

Not as much of a turn off as "In-and-out" although I still want to try the burgers to see why so many people crave the place.

Uhh...not sure who you met that was the "owner"...maybe some guy who wondered in after buying a phone next door at Sprint? The store was owned by a fairly large LLC that also owns 22 Buffalo Wild Wings, 30 Little Caesar's and 15 Zios.

I always had good service there, but I imagine it was simply losing money or not making enough so off it went...

If one "wondered", the person I described did not "wander" in from the Sprint store, but is the principal of the organization that has the Smash Burger franchise in San Antonio. If the organization is a LLC , he might be a member or a manager, but nonetheless, the principal.

The point of my posting was his arrogance in not wanting to hear what the customers' were providing in feedback on the Forum.
