Thanks!

I don't see a single TJ's in the state of TX. Any idea why people think they would open one here before, say Dallas, Houston or Austin? To me it seems Austin would be the safest place to open one.

Maybe less competition? Easier market to start in? Also, possibly easier from a distribution standpoint. Just some ideas.

It's actually going in at the 281/Stone Oak development, not 1604 and 281.

I don't understand this statement at all, or maybe not agreeing with it may be a better way of putting it.

It may have rang true 5-7 years ago, but not now.

You honestly think San Antonio is a better fit for a TJ's than Austin is? While I do not know a lot about TJ's, if its a healthy/specialty grocer (Whole Foods type), it would fit in better in Austin than it would in SA. I'm not saying it would fail here, just that a location in Austin would be more profitable. Hell, there are 3 Whole Foods in Austin while SA only has 1.

Maybe that's why they would open here first.

We will agree to disagree.

Not too much, but you can expect big things, Tacara and Park Place are going to try and top one another.

They have one of the most premiere sub markets in SA. Village at Stone Oak can be looked at more as being a regular middle/upper class shopping center with Super Target, Borders, Pei Wei, etc.

Tacara and Park Place are going after the big spenders, Tacara focusing on the living, shopping, working aspect while Park Place is going after people who are looking for entertainment. With a theater (for plays and concerts), aquarium, Emeril Lagasse restaurant, etc.
