Just cleaned my desk off and found my letter from the state DOT. My plates expire in January...but I've never done this before...

So do they expire 1 January, or 31 January?

Thanks for the help guys!

I think it's end of January. And thanks for the reminder, I have to have my Hot Rod inspected by end of this month. Yikes....

Can you still renew them at HEB? It's been years since I've done that.

I checked their website and it doesn't look like you can do it there. I paid there once for some reason, years ago and I think the reason I did it was the line was much shorter.

I'll second doing it online, it is quick, easy and saves gas money driving somewhere else to do it! I renew all five of our vehicles this way and the decal comes in the mail in about a week!

Honestly, it couldn't be any easier!

Oh, and here is the better web site for renewing vehicle registrations...Texas Department of Motor Vehicles - Vehicle Title and Registration Services

For driver's licenses, use this link: DPS Drivers License Division

Cheers! M2

I last paid at HEB about 2 years ago. Their policy at the time was, you could pay there as long as you didn't let the tags expire.

I got a new sticker at an HEB a couple of months ago for my vehicle. You need to have the renewal notice you got in the mail, and they can't do it if it has already expired. They also charge a $1 service fee.
