Disney has said they aren't opening any new parks in the US and is busy through 2011 negotiating new parks overseas. I think they are opening a new water park at one of their current locations though. Sadly Disney is set in the US because people are willing to travel to Cali or Florida to visit the parks.

By the way this rumor has been around for years and even across other cities in Texas.

A long time ago, in a brush field far far away, there was a rumor that Disney was going to build in the Rio Grande Valley and have part of the park overlap into Mexico.

Because of security concerns, this was scrapped.

I moved here from Frisco, and have heard this rumor for 10 years up in the Frisco (dallas) area. There are LOTS of domain names taken - disneydallas.com, disneyhouston.com, disneytexas.com, disneyoklahoma.com, disneymidwest.com... I think these are just cyber-squatters. It's hardly proof of anything...

I've echoed these exact same sentiments in my post in the original thread linked above. It's not going to happen....now i'm all prepared for my trip 12/9/07-12/15/07 to WDW; staying at AKL.

Mikey Mouse called me yesterday and confirmed it. There WILL NOT be a Disneyland built in San Antonio...EVER!
