I was looking at switching my membership over to Triton Sports but I ran across this article on SI.com

How Triton used athletes to attract clients, defraud investors - SI.com - Magazine

I really want to join but I don't want to join only to find the place closed next week.

What is the status on the construction? Has all the construction been halted? Is the club finished? Is the parking lost ever going to be finished?

I dont think its halted at all. I always see workers inside the gym but the parking is the worse thing about it. I just joined a few weeks ago and I really enjoy it. Not sure when the parking lot will be finished but its taking forever from what I've seen and I heard a lot of broken promises on when it will be completed. And thanks for the link!

The club has been finished for a long time, they took over the old Thousand Oaks Raquetball and Fitness club. They are expanding the club and that's the construction you see. A couple friends are members there and love it.

The club isn't finished by a long shot. They opened the upper weight room finally. But, it took forever for them to get the locker rooms open. The parking lot has been a cleared dirt field for literally almost a year, and the basketball court, which was supposed to be done a long time ago, is a pile of wood hidden behind a plastic sheet.

I don't have any inside info, but in my personal opinion, to say they're having a cash flow problem is a massive understatement.

That said, it's still a good gym - I love the weightroom. The parking sucks, and I'd love for the bball court to be finished, but that aside, I enjoy it. I think they were over ambitious in their sales pitches.

If the management is any example of how they run the club they won't be in business very long... trust me on this one! All I can say is "psycho".

Being turned into a YMCA, per what I hear. Hopefully that means they'll have the money to finish it out (parking lot).
