The prime rib at Ruth's Chris is close to the best beef I have ever had (out at a restaurant). I think it was about $40.00 per person, and that doesn't include the sides, wine, etc.

Nice, but not a budget price...

True, that. My apologies if it was off. I think the best on a budget is to get some hand cut ribeyes and grill them at home. It will be better than anything you can buy at a restaurant. Fix a good salad and some baked potatoes with the toppings and you save plenty of money.

I would try the barn door. You don't last over 50 years with out something going for you.

If, then I would say that Red Barn is better. But to be honest - in both places the steaks without sauce are pretty tasteless...

My favorite is Saltgrass on IH10W - the Pat's Ribeye is wonderful... about $16.00 lunch til 4 p.m. then $20. in the evening. Chili's makes a really good ribeye too.. which runs about $17.00. Roadhouse is okay but I dont care for the atmosphere... very loud. Ruth Chris is very good but is pricey.. everything is alacarte. I went there for my birthday and for three of us about $100. - two can share a side dish and the dessert was wonderful.

Yikes! That would be sorta like buying an airline ticket because American Airlines has such excellent chicken dinners.
