I've lived in Vegas, and I was fine with the summer heat, so using that information, how do you think the summer humidity would affect me in San Antonio?

Everyone is different...but here is a chart to compare the humidity levels. It's from 2001...but still should be somewhat accurate.
Me personally, I think it (the humidity here) sucks.

Average Relative Humidity(%)

I've never really been anywhere with a dry high heat, so I can't really tell you much. I can say that to me the humidity here is a little less than Houston, and a lot less than Florida.

Yep, having lived in Florida, San Antonio seems dry to me (at least until I head up to San Angelo!). Then again, Lost Wages was dehydrating, luckily we had a lot of beer when I was there!

But in my 25 years in the Air Force I moved from one climate to another, and you always get used to it. Heck, I went from the UK to Idaho, and Germany to Texas. I never moved to anyplace with a similar climate to the place I left. But you will adapt. Sometimes it takes a year, but it'll happen. Heck, we last moved here from Belgium; but now we love the heat and it is getting to where I have a hard time adjusting to the cold.

In my opinion San Antonio isn't humid. I grew up in the West Texas desert. Maybe I am just used to it now.

Well, I never lived in Vegas, but visited frequently. I DID however, grow up in Phoenix (lived there about 20ish years) and it seemed to me that the weather/lack of humidity in both cities was quite similar, so I understand that "but it's a dry heat" concept that people who've only VISITED but never LIVED there always throw about. Yeah, whatever. (So is an oven! LOL!!) Anyway, we've been in SA a little over 10 years now, and I think I'm just NOW getting somewhat acclimated to the humidity. It drove me crazy for years! It's a totally different *type* of heat. It's more uncomfortable in many ways, tho definitely not as INTENSE as 117 degree temps! No way, no how! (But it's still yucky. )

From Missouri... San Antonio's humidity is an urban myth.

Get Ready for Another Day of Dangerous Heat - KMCI-TV - June 2009

An excessive heat warning remains in effect for the entire NBC Action News viewing area through Thursday at 9 p.m.,
with high temperatures expected in the mid-90s and heat indices near 110 degrees.

I'm going to agree w/ this. Lived a bit in Vegas, lived alot here in SA. The feeling of stepping into 117 degrees to me is FAR more awful than SA's heat. You sweat more here but it isnt life-sucking torture. So yeah, i think you'll be fine here.

Totally agree! The only thing I really hate about Houston humidity is that you go outside for 5 minutes and when you come back in you feel like you need to take a shower and change clothes. Ugh! Reminds me of The Keys without the breeze!
