I would have to agree, once the admin took responsibility to start walking the student the process should have been complete. The parent however should not blame the school but count her blessings that her little angel is okay. I would apologize to the administrator for putting him/her in this prediciment(sp) and learn from my (mom) error!

I agree with a previous poster's sentiments...why is this even a NEWS story? Why is it that some television stations are so prone to sensationalizing such events?

The mother spent more energy, I am sure, trying to find blame in the actions of the school...rather than just celebrating that her child was fine and then turning her remaining energy to making sure her child learned a very valuable and critical "life lesson".

this is all news to me...didn't realize I could just drop the kiddo outside of school any time of day. Like a fool, I have actually been walking her into the school to sign her in on the days we are late and then watching her go to her classroom. Well, no more! From now on I'll just cruise by the school at a low speed and have her make a jump for it.

Well it is just another sign of the times. Scary as it is, parents only have to be parents at home once they are on someone else's property their child's life is in someone else's hands. We need to hold her accountable and it would be great if KSAT would do a follow up story on her home life and show that her "KID" is always protected, and I mean ALWAYS.

Agree with your assessment 100%!
Thats what my husband and I were talking about. I told him if you are going to put yourself on the news, can you at least try and sound intelligent? "What if someone took my kid?" just doesn't have the same ring as "What if something would have happened to my child?"
