Don't have a single tree in the front that drops leaves, but my yard was covered thanks to the neighbors. Raked them all up and my kiddo had a ball playing in them. Was the next best thing to snow.

I hate raking so I use a mulching mower as well. there are 2 large pecan trees in the back yard and always tons of leaves in the fall, so I mulch half of them then put the grass catcher on and save about 3 bags of the rest and compost them for later use.

I feel for you Sapphire. Have your Live Oak leaves dropped with the freeze? They are especially tough leaves and don't break down like most others....and the little buggers seem more prolific than most other leaves. Why do they have to have their own special time to fall???

I vote for the muclher/vacumn type method. When they get wet and are left in thick piles they will kill your lawn ....if it's not already dead from last summers drought!

I only have one big one in the front yard, and it's almost completely devoid of leaves now. I am praying for wind.
