Where is a good butcher or meat market in the San Antonio area? The grocery stores around here are weak in selection and quality.

LOL Lee W. I was going to say "skip Culebra Meat Market--you don't wanna see what they have!" but to each their own.

I went to Culebra Meat Market one time a few years ago just to check it out, and the smell that hit my nostrils made me do a quick 180, out the door and down the street QUICKLY.

I'd suggest Cooper's Meat Market down on Broadway in Alamo Heights. Central Market further south on Broadway isn't too bad either. Another place for variety in species is a Exotic meat market off of 410 maybe near Perrin Beitel...I've never been there so I can't speak to the quality.

Exotic Meats USA ® good stuff, but pretty expensive

If you don't mind a short trip to New Braunfels, I recommend Granzin's Meat Market | http://granzinsmeatmarket.com

Bolner's Meat Market has nice meat. Good food, too!
