I saw one sting an Anode lizard once. Those lizards are pretty quick when they aren't basking in the sun, but it was no match for the scorpion.

we had "regular" tan scorpians in our old house, but then one day I was cooking and saw a pitch black scorpion wedged between my stove and counter. Screamed for the hubby. He pulled the stove out to kill it and the thing literally charged at us at an unbelievable speed. Have never seen my husband jump so high or so fast. Just the most vicious thing we've ever seen. The tan ones were more subdued...cat would bat them around and they never stung her.

Texas.....sigh.

I used to live in Arizona where scorpions were a real problem and the only long-term solution is to have your home "sealed" so they can no longer get in.

If your house is already infested (they breed and multiply in the walls) then after sealing you'll need to have professionals eradicate them.

For small numbers of scorpions, the Ortho Home Defense spray works wonders! But it sounds like you have more than just a few....

Damn that video is creepy. That lil sucker is a fighter and ready to sting the **** out of someone. Is it red or a dark brown color? I have tan ones but haven't seen any "yet" but I'm keeping my eyes open.

Does anyone have experience with Bulwark the pest control co.?

In the past 4 houses we've been in, we've had a mix of tan and dark brown/black ones. The darker they are, the faster!

We use the Ortho spray around the house - if we do see a scorpion (or any other critter for that matter) they are almost already dead and very lethargic. Stuff works pretty good.

Our current neighborhood is under construction, but our immediate area is finished. I know they're in the attic/walls, as I found one in the light fixture.

Now I don't want to put my feet back on the ground under my desk! *shivers*

Oh crapola....now I'm all freaked out...the video was to much! We've been in our house about 5 months. It's not new, but it sat empty for a bit. We saw plenty of scorpions and giant centipedes when we first moved in. I'll never forget the first one I saw...I thought it was a gecko......shivers......then I realized what it was!!! The last time I saw one was 3 months ago. It was dead and beaten up from my cats. I could see lots of stuff knocked over as evidence that the cats had fun chasing it around. I've read on the internet that the best way to get rid of them is to have a cat or two in the house. This came from exterminaters. Cats also work well to keep your house free of mice and rats. I've never had a critter problem. I believe I owe it to my cats. In Florida, my friends who had no pets had rat and mice problems. I never saw a mouse or a rat in Florida or here. The cats don't work on spiders though. I have a bad spider bite on my finger right now. It happened in the night....ouch!

Let me tell you, I was working on the computer late at night and had my feet up on the wheels/legs of the chair...felt something brush against the bottom of my foot and assumed it was the cat's tail. But, then I see the cat is waaay over on the other side of the room. Look down and there's a scorpion. Thank goodness I didn't put my foot down.
