This really hurts the credibility of law enforcement! They have access to fingerprints, DNA, photos, etc. and still arrest the wrong people.

Says the news story: "[BCS] said they were aware of the mix up but had to wait for the OK from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles before they could release Soto."

Go government bureaucracy, go!

That could mean that there might be more to this story than is being reported, such as the comment "it's for a crime he didn't commit" may be construed that there are other crimes he has committed! I am not saying he did, but had he had a criminal record that could have been part of the problem.

I find it incomprehensible that someone would be held this long for a case of mistaken identity. Of course, it did occur over the MLK weekend so that may have also contributed to the issue. However, I still think there is some more info we are not getting; which is not uncommon given the media in this town...

True; when it's mistaken identity (such as the hubby's case), it's all resolved in a matter of hours or one day.

4 days x 24 hours x $1000/hr (I wouldn't accept less) = $96,000 that I'd be invoicing Bexar County for my "inconvenience."

Soto was jailed on a parole violation for a drug charge. The problem, he said, is that it's for a crime he didn't commit.
Serious question...
can he sue the city for what they did?

If I make a mistake for 4 days, I guarantee that I would be in trouble:
- Pick up the wrong kid at school
- Drive away in the wrong car
- Grab the butt of the wrong woman

If we have to pay, they should also pay when they make a mistake

Uhhhhh?
One person can't decide that somebody is innocent and let him walk out of the door.
If it was like that, all the jails would be empty.

Besides,
how can you complain about that when you don't know how long it took for them to give the OK,
it could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 days
