I think it's been there since the late 70s. It's very unique design for a lubys too with courtyards and such.

Wow, I'm glad everyone is chiming in. I've gotten several new ideas of places to take the family.

5) Asia Kitchen (followed CLOSELY by Thai Hut)

My kids LOVE all of these places! (Although they'd prolly eat at McDonald's every day if I'd let them. Weeeeeeeelllll, maybe for a week or so. LOL!)

What if there are no family members to speak of?

Hubby and I, and most of our great friends are SA transplants left over from college years here.

Your husband and you are each others family ~When you have kids you have to look for more "family friendly" restaurants. I couldnt take my kids to Luce for instance.....that would be a crime.

Oh my goodness, yes.

If this were your top 5 for 1985 Luby's would be 1 thru 4.

My mom and aunt took me there nearly once a week.

I loved the mac and cheese and the ladies that walked around with the carts of lemons, tea and condiments.

I remember sitting in those green leather highchairs leaning over my flip tray trying to grab my bowls off of the carrying trays. I was impatient when it came to mac and cheese.

Good call!
