Is anyone familar with the KB subdivision Auburn Hills at Woodcrest in Live Oak? If so, what can you tell me? Good, bad? We are considering a ranch home and liked the location, but always like to get imput from others. We are retired, but not ancient, lol, no childern at home. Looking for warmer weather than western NYS. Meaning no SNOW!!

Wonderful! May I pick your brain? We are planning to relocate to the San Antonio area and my son took us to the Auburn Hills subdivision. What do you like about it? Is there anything you don't like? What are the taxes like? We are looking at the 1754 sq ft ranch as it is just the two of us and we are retired, but husband will probably look for something to do part time. Is there a monthly community fee for the pool etc and if there is what else might it include and costwise approximately how much. My son is considering one also, we might do next door to each other. How long have you lived there?

Default Auburn Hills at Woodcrest in Live Oak - any new info?

Hi
Hoping to revive the post about Auburn Hills. Now that it has been there for a little while, any complaints/compliments from folks who already live there?

How are the KB Homes holding up? Any foundation or othe issues? Is it still quiet out there? What happens when it rains hard out there? Any flooding. How about fireworks. Did people shoot them off out there?

If you had a choice, would you rather live in Live Oak or Converse?

Thanks!

I went ahead and purchased a 1.5 year old home out there. But I'm in the older woodcrest area - not the newer auburn hills area. I like the nieghborhood and the house. The house has some small defects but overall, I have no regrets. Customer service response is horrible. I never get a return voicemail My neighbor purchased directly from KB and is fairly happy but says the same thing. There are some minor things that need fixing that he can't get anyone out on.
Good luck!

We are moving from NY to TX in a few days and have an apartment rental for a few months so we can take our time house hunting. I am still interested in Auburn Hills, possibly an inventory home if they have something that we like, and also the older neighborhood of Woodcrest. Any recent imput would be great.

I like Live Oak a lot. There is a real sense of community. The officials and the police are very friendly. Everything is close. The police are friendly but very deligent. I have liveed in the SA area for 6 years. Have been pulled over twice by police - both times in Live Oak. But I didn't mind. The were just doing their job.
The speed limit in Live Oak in 20 MPH and they enforce it. They will deligently check your stickers, etc..

The older homes appear very well-cared for and have good prices. I wanted one but they are all have gas and I don't like natural gas. I tried to find a brand new spec home but most of them were 2 stories. I like one story homes.

There is no HOA in the older part of Woodcrest. But they do have city code enforcement. Several folks in the older part have boats and RVs.

There are several flood zones that run through the older part of woodcrest. So watch out if you purchase by a drainage ditch.

Have a good move!

I want a one story home also and was hoping that there might be some specs that would fit the bill. I have seen some gently lived in homes in the older part of Woodcrest that look appealing on the MLS so will check those out as well.

Thanks for the input Shenane!

We've been living here for almost 5 years. We were one of the first families out here. There are several retired 'young' families in the area. Lots of military families. The cultural diversity in the neighborhood is almost equally spread out with white, black and hispanic. Police Department is highly commended from keeping on track with our speed limit of 20mph, our pets, and parking. Home owners association is fairly new about $350 annually. We do have a park with pool, basketball and some outdoor workout area for adults, swings and such for kids of course. KB has done a good job on these homes. I haven't seen much settleting on the grounds. We still get to see several deer at night because of the undeveloped wooded area in the neighborhood. Lot of families relocating from California. Live Oak is a very family orientated town - great park with Disk Golf, walking areas, small pond for fishing and kids sports. Lots of pets in the neighborhood. Great churches from Non-denomination, Baptist to Catholic. Live Oak over Converse by a long shot! Great shopping area at the Forum less than 10 minutes away. HEB for groceries stores or Randolf AFB about 15 minutes away.
