It may have something to do with how much it costs to position yourself at busy intersections like that. Pretty difficult for Paulie's Pizza to start out there, I would imagine.

[quote=BenjaminNicholas;12743983 With the slew of new chefs opening eateries faster than they should (paging Jason Dady), it's nice to see guys like Auden prove why he's one of the best in all of Texas. BN[/QUOTE]

I got an email yesterday from Luciano's that the Stone Oak location will now be offering full service dining every evening from 5-10 p.m and the chef is Chef Alberto Baffoni.

It goes on to say that his kudos include winning the TBS Superstation
“Superchef Cookoff” and appearing on the popular
“Dinner & A Movie”

Guess I am not a suburbanite since I live very close to downtown and I almost never go to a chain. (can't remember the last one)
Restaurants frequently visited:

Blanco Cafe (original on Blanco)
Chris Madrid's
The Cove
Tip Top (recently opened, 1938)
Caparelli's on Main
Garcia's on Fredricksburg (ummm Pork Tacos)

I'd give just about anything for a Cafe Express to open here.

Insignia was disappointing also, but I think we have covered that on this thread before.
I went there once and it was ok, the bbq was nothing to write home about. I think Tre might be the best of the bunch.

There looks to be a new restaurant being built in front of Home Depot on 1604 at Culebra, but there is no sign as to what it will be. It's not the new BJ's which is also being built across 1604. Anyone know?

That makes 2...thousand of us. This concept would take off in SA, not sure why they aren't expanding more.

Browsing the menu, it seems pricey for salads.

I'd rather pay less and get exactly what I want on my salad at (San Antonio based) Souper Salad or Jason's Deli.

It's really an entirely different dining experience from Souper Salad, and even Jason's (which is no doubt one of my favorites).

My favorite salad is the Shrimp and Avacado. It's unbelievable.
