Does anyone know if the container store ever has super sales or coupons?

Are there other stores locally like the container store?

I loved their Elfa shelving and desks!

They normally have a GREAT Elfa shelving sale in Jan...seems to me it is 20% off. I know I got the flyer/coupon announcement in the mail this year again...not sure if it is ONLY Jan or not. If so, you just missed it. Ask them at the register to put you on the mailing list. I know if you use the AMX card for purchases there they auto place you on their mailing list for sales.

IIRC, they also have the ELFA sale in August.

I can no longer go to that store...it reminds me of how organizationally challenged I am

One suggestion would be to go to retailmenot.com, couponmountain.com, etc. (online coupon sites) and search for Container Store coupons. You can usually find coupon codes for online purchases and it looks like the Container Store allows you to buy online and pickup at the store so that no shipping is charged. I hope this helps. I recommend to always look at these sites and also search Google and Yahoo under the "shopping" heading when making large purchased. Saves lots of money!

The IKEA Store in Round Rock (north of Austin) has similar shelving, storage and furniture. Their prices are also lower. Check their website. They also have a location in Houston and maybe Dallas.

I second Ikea. When we go (about 1x per year) it is definitely an all day thing. I go with a plan in mind, but when I get to the store I see so much more!

The Dallas-area Ikea is located in Frisco.

Elfa is 30% off in January AND 30% off installation as well. We just bought a ton of it to redo our master closet. It was pricey, but it is worth it--it is definitely an investment in your home. Good for resale...especially if you can install it yourself.
