I understand that the traffic is bad in the Stone Oak and surrounding areas. However, if we chose to buy a home in the NorthEast School district which subdivisions would be the easiest in dealing with traffic and communting to BAMC. My husband doesn't mind the commute, but I would like to make this move as pleasant for everyone involved as possible. Our budget for our home is $300,000-375,000.

Thanks in advance,
Sharon

that price range -- try sonterra. You are right at sonterra boulevard which leads to Hwy 281, Stone Oak parkway which goes to Loop 1604 and Huebner which goes to blanco road/1604. I don't find traffic within Stone Oak to be horrible. Hwy 281 north of Encino Rio is the cause of most traffic headaches and is definitely the area to avoid.

If your spending that money don't looke at stone oak. Look oakwell farms or Alamo heights. I can't imagine that punishing of a commute for no real reason, other than to say look new money!

Look in Northwood. Alano Heights schools, in San Antonio city limits. Check school district lines to be sure.

The village of Hollywood Park would work, if you're willing to accept a 30 year-old home on a big lot. Bluffs at Camino Real and the many Deerfield neighborhoods would fit the description, too.

OP: I say if you know you want Stone Oak, go for it! It's a beautiful place to live. I wish to God we would have bought a house there. Traffic is was it is here. I would not let that keep me from Stone Oak. You won't have graffiti up there, trash all over, random signs stuck all over. You will have clean, well-lit streets, cafes, hospitals, and good schools. Hollywood Park has too many different types of homes. One is a mansion and next door you have a run-down Brady Bunch era house.
