Our rain chances are minimal with the ridge on top of us.

IS their no chance that the cold front across North Texas will organize a mesoscale complex that could reach us?

It's in the mid 60's in N Texas. I hope it make it. Our NWS does not think so.

They are pretty much right not to get excited about it. The only possible way for an extension or redevelopment of more storms will be from the outflow and cold pull generated from these storms as they tap into the cooler air higher up in the atmosphere (acting like a mini cool front).

Unfortunately, we have a very strong cap and we're too far away from that activity, not to mention our atmosphere is in a sinking rather than lifting mode, to generate widespread or any thunderstorm development in our region.

Today's GFS run shows absolutely no rain whatsoever throughout the next 16 days. We'll see about that.

QUICK UPDATE TO THE FORECAST PACKAGE TO INCREASE POPS BY A
CATEGORY ACROSS THE NORTHERN COUNTIES. THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE
STORM SYSTEM HAS BEEN DEVELOPING QUICKER THAN PREVIOUSLY
ANTICIPATED...SO WILL LIKELY SEE SOME THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE
EVENING HOURS ALONG AND TO THE NORTHEAST OF A LINE FROM BURNET TO
AUSTIN TO GIDDINGS.
Im moving North!
