The Cake Shop does do a wonderful job however the last time I picked up a cake for a bridal shower another customer was there complaining that when he took home his cake and tried to cut it it was frozen....

Try Cupcake Couture they did my wedding cake and we also go there often for their delicious cupcakes they are too die for!

cathy Young makes the most amazingly delicious and beautiful cakes in the world! Nothing compares. She did my wedding cake (vanilla) and the groom's cake (chocolate) five years ago. People still talk about how fabulous they were.

I have seen her name come up before, where is she located. My problem is I always wait until the last minute (not on purpose), so I end up going to Costco, which is not a bad thing either.

Agreed. Nadler's is world-renowned, for a reason. They did our wedding and groom's cakes.

While I think Nadler's make some beautiful cakes, I don't necessarily think they taste the best. They did my wedding cake in 2007 and it was stunning, and for the most part they gave me exactly what I wanted appearance wise. The taste however was quite bland, and I did choose buttercream frosting as opposed to fondant which I have always found to taste like glue. My husband's grooms cake was done by Lucy's and they gave him EXACTLY what he wanted (Budweiser beer bottle cake, yes we are that classy) and it was very good, moist, and sweet. Lucys is a SA Cake institution and will pretty much do whatever you want sometimes in a very short amount of time.

My Dad swears by Nadler's, buys me a bday cake from there every year, I just never find them to be all that good - Just dont tell my Dad that cuz it will hurt his feelings.
