Hi, I am hoping to close on my house on Friday in Silver Oaks and on the Time Warner site it says they do not offer DSL. Does anyone know who else offers it in that area? We will not have tv cable for a few months so only need internet.

Time-Warner offers Cable Modem Service. AT&T offers DSL.

If that area is covered by Grande, you might have a second option for Cable Modem Service.

You can also get Wireless Internet service from Clear anywhere in San Antonio.

I don't know if you can get Internet only, but Uverse was awesome when we lived over there. We paid $85 a month for Internet with wireless, 200 channels, 4 tv's and DVR on two of them.

I tried to get them to do that a year ago. AT&T wouldn't install Uverse without TV.

I've heard of people getting the U-verse TV & Internet bundle, then cancelling the TV portion and being allowed to keep Internet-only through U-verse.

Of course, you can also get DSL though AT&T, either with their landline phone service, or without, in which case it is known as "Standalone DSL" or Dry Loop DSL".
