Meanwhile, us on the NE side of town and NE suburbs of sa yet to have an HEB plus. What the heck are they waiting for?? I know there's long been a need for at least another HEB in the schertz area for awhile.

Supposedly, insiders with HEB say we're not getting any more of those in the foreseeable future.

I agree that I don't care for the Plus concept if it means that I have to hike past tires and cheap furniture to find the paper towels.

The Alon market is pretty good as it has a more diverse stock of items and a really nice cheese section (my hobby) for a market. Not as good as a Central Market but you find some interesting things.

The takeout is just standard HEB takeout - which is the same as the Central Market takeout for many dishes.

Nothing compares to the flagship Whole Foods in Austin.

The Babcock new store is a waste of space for what they carry.

FYI this is going to be the biggest HEB in Texas. Even bigger than the one on Evans road

I agree. They need to make one where the old K-mart is off of IH35.

I know for a fact HEB owns the land on 1604 and Bulverde rd..across the highway from the new MCD's and Starbucks...Thats north east to me.

Yes I know the one at Babcock and Huebner isn't an HEB plus but the post I was referring to was about the new one at Bandera and 1604. That one will be more than twice the size of the one at Babcock and Huebner. The post I quoted said it definitely wasn't going to be an HEB Plus. My question...if that is so, it will likely be the most enormous "normal" HEB ever built. 179ksf is the size of a Wal Mart super center.

Yeah its gonna be a plus. That HEB has needed an upgrade for many years. It was built in 98 and was a ghost town and now try going there in the middle of the day...its like no one works around there...its constantly busy....maybe seems that way cause its small.

Shoot. I thought i phrased my post better. Sorry about that. I hadn't don't my research on the area since it's not my HEB of choice. I may run into this new HEB if I'm in the area but I won't be stopping there to do my shopping every single week. It's the addition if clothing, tires, furniture and electronics. If you stop at the Babcock and Huebner HEB you'll see a definite difference in that it doesn't have those items even though it is huge.
