An HEB Plus! is planned for Bandera at 1604. Right behind the current HEB that is there.

I hear they're also planning on building an HEB Plus off of Culebra just north of 1604.

Yeah again!! That's even better for me. I love living in the country but I hate driving 25 miles to the grocery store.

Well enjoy it while you can because it's not going to be the country anymore in the next 5 years. That's what happens when people hate driving "25miles" to the grocery store. You can't have both.

Hard to believe 3 within 7 miles Potranco (existing), Culebra, Bandera.

The one on Potranco is scaling back on higher end stuff such as prime meats, olives, etc... Were going back to Central Market I guess. Hopefully the 281 location won't have this issue.

Potranco to Bandera is 9 miles, but even so you're talking about half a million people within a 5 mile radius.

Not to mention that most people probably won't venture down that stretch of 1604 just to go to an HEB Plus...the traffic is too bad...they've done their homework.

I imagine it's the same reason they put a Chili's at 1604 & Culebra and 1604 & Bandera...

I know, you are exactly right. It already isn't the country anymore. Our ranch has subdivisions on both sides, luckily the front and back are still undeveloped. But being in the middle of 200 acres still feels like the country when you get home from a crazy day at work and sit on the deck and watch the horses and cows go by.
It is booming like crazy out there, the traffic in the last 3 years has tripled. What used to be a 25 minute drive to work is now an hour. I do hate to see the growth but I know that I can't stop it. When I retire I plan on moving to Utopia or Vanderpool hopefully it won't be too populated by then.
