I don't know how much they charge but I you should take a look at the apartments at 1604 and wiseman. They are new, I helped a guy move in there a few months back and they are very nice.

We've had friends that lived in the townhomes at westcreek, all who have moved out because of the problems they encountered there (drugs, trailor trash like atmosphere). Short term it may not be too bad. One friend used it as a stepping stone if you will, they lived there long enough to save enough money to buy their own home. If it's long term I wouldn't move my family there.

Good luck.

This looks like it might fit the bill:

Madison at Pipers Creek | 7940 Pipers Creek Road - SAN ANTONIO, TX 78251, Apartment Rentals on Move.com

You might also be able to find a rental home for under 900 dollars/month. They are often cheaper than apartments.

Try doing a search here:

San Antonio, Rentals, Real Estate, Houses, Properties, Apartments | mySA.com

I wish you the best of luck. It's so hard to find a place when you're not familiar with the area.

Do you have a particular area that you are set on, like NW, NC, etc? No place is perfect but some areas are safer than others.

I sent you a DM.

Also check out the new townhouses at Dugas and Military. I hear they are really nice.

With all of your help I have found Rolling Ridge North apartments. They are in the 229 zipcode. So any suggestions on that?

I have a friend who has a 1 year old that lives down the way on Evers. She says she feels safe in that area so I'd so look into it some more.

Great. I am glad to hear that. I am hoping that my experience in SA is great and I just want to start it off right! You are some very helpful people and I am hoping that is the atmosphere when I get there!

They told me the 3/2 townhome was $810 because I make too much money.
Whenever they throw in that detail, it's probably not a good sign.

Doubt it - they'd been a hellhole of the very worst of Section 8 housing for way too long.
