Brackenridge Park. I fed them in 2000 quite a few times there when I was a college student.

I feel funny asking this question, but what type of food do people feed ducks? Is it bread?

Bread..corn...I think..I fed chopped lettuce at some point...they eat stuff that grows in the pond so I kinda figured some of the lettuce I didn't want to eat out of the head...I'd feed the ducks..but that was a long time ago and I have C.R.S.

I second the Botanical Gardens. Great place to feed the ducks and enjoy a beautiful walk!

My kids love going to "Duck Park" (the pond in Heritage), but those ducks are SOOOOO well fed that they look at the food ya try to give them and then look at ya like, "You're gonna hafta do better than that!" We were there a few weeks ago, and there was so much bread and various food junk in the water that we all kinda gagged and left.

am seconding hertiage duck pond. but damn, those are some fat and fugly ducks. what kind are they, does anyone know? (the mottled ones with the red faces). the park, as i am told, looks nicer than it has in a long while (i've only known it in recent years, and pass it on the way to the market) which has made it really well traveled... and well populated with junk and garbage in the waters. i really don't know what most folks feed the fowl, but the ice cream truck stops there often and something tells me the kids are being generous with their treats
