I dont know why it is so difficult to find a qualified and reasonably priced handyman. I have a small 1940's cottage and I need miscellaneous work including door knobs retrofitted and installed, light exterior plumbing work between house and outside hose, minor drywall work, painting, and possibly some concrete and paver work on sidewalk. If you know if anyone that if professional, experienced, and reasonably priced as I dont want to have to pay tooth and nail. Please let me know.

Thank you.

Did you try searching 'handyman' on here? Might find some recommendations that way.

It's often a crap shoot - what some consider "reasonable" others consider "high". I have several folks I've recommended from time to time, with feedback from "GREAT!!" to "He wanted too much!". The day of $30/hr handymen is fast going away, I'm afraid. Not to say they're not out there, but usually they'll specialize more. The general handyman - a GOOD one - has more business than he can shake a stick at. I've also seen folks that are "high" turn out work 2-3 times as fast as someone charging half the rate.

I have a GREAT handyman. His name is Keith Hatwig (I can't remember if we can post names or not? If not I apologize and please mods feel free to remove). I got him off of Angie's List and he's been super. Very reasonable and is a licensed contractor too, if you need anything major done, but he's done little things for us that we just could not do (changed out lightbulbs in our ceiling fan in the living room which has 24' ceilings, painted our upstairs hall and playroom, put in an outlet, and put up a barn star on our garage) and for a very reasonable price--I almost always end up giving him more than he suggests because I think it's too low! LOL.

Thanks! If you would, please DM me his contact info. I get folks asking all the time, and would love to add him to my contacts list. Good folks ARE hard to find - and when I do, I try to share!

Sure TR! Sending you a message right now. He's a very clean-cut, polite guy.

Is he good at plumbing? I have a line in my laundry room that is clogged from the hard water deposits and I need to get it either snaked or (probably) replaced.

Have a great one. Jeff with HRS (Heyen Residential Services) built a VERY reasonably priced fence for me (a rock solid one) and has a background in commercial maintenance. There's nothing he and his partner can't do. Just two guys. Legal workers. Very reasonable prices. Number is 725-8390
