Hello all
My boyfriend has an internship this summer in San Antonio and will be working on the Brooks AFB on the south side. He needs to find a place for 9 weeks...very difficult. I know that he could go stay at Extended Stay America or something but thinking an apartment could be cheaper?

I used to go to school in SA but it's been a few years, and I don't really remember the areas too well. Where would you suggest looking for places? I was thinking maybe N side around 281/Bitters or off Blanco Rd. Is that area relatively safe? All I remember is going to the Quarry a few times. Any suggestions for apartment complexes that would do a 3 month lease? He is checking out subleases/craig's list but nothing seems to fit his dates.

Try one of the extended-stay motels - that's going to likely be your best bet.

Extended Stay is an option but it's $2,500 for the time frame he's going to be there. Thinking it would be cheaper for an apartment. It's just a matter of actually finding one that would work with the time frame... :P

Try to find somebody renting a room or a floor of their house. (just an idea)

Which would actually be more than "$2500 for the timeframe he's going to be there".

149 X 4(weeks roughly per month) = $596 X 9 (months) = $5121

And thus ends today's math class.

If it's $149 per week for 9 weeks that's $1341 or even if its $199 per week it's still only $1791. Where is the $2500 figure coming out from? $1300 to 1700 isn't bad for two months. That's what an apartment would cost for two months roughly.

There's an Extended Stay (i think thats what it's called, it might be a different name) right off of IH-35 & Zarzamora (south side area) that I'm pretty sure I saw advertised recently for $199 per week. If you want me to find out the name/number for you send me a message and I will.

The OP said 9 weeks not 9 months.

It is 9 weeks, not 9 months. and it's $34.99/night at the one off 281 which would be closest to Brooks AFB. It's technically a homestead suites, but I guess they are owned by Extended Stay America. The other one is by the colonnade and it's $49.99/night, and farther away.
