All, I know that San Antonio is not in the running to host the FIFA World Cup for 2018, but Houston is Driving Distance.

Please login and vote for Houston so that San Antonioans have a chance to make it to this major event.

I'm sure those coming in from around the world might decide to visit San Antonio from Houston....possibly giving our restaurants, riverwalk, and other attactions an economic boost-

Houston is where the Mexican national team always plays, so they are guaranteed to be one of the WC stadiums.

Besides, I really doubt they are going to pick them based on an internet poll

I think that site is just supporting the cause. Based on this exisiting CD thread in the soccer forum //www.city-data.com/forum/socce...18-2022-a.html Houston AND Dallas are in the running for a bid at the moment. Both are within driving distance, which would be cool either way. I always start paying attention to soccer around WC time.

Of the cities listed, I would think Dallas would be a shoe-in as one of the host cities. Jerry World would be a showcase venue for the World Cup. Would be nice to see both Houston and Dallas chosen. Surely LA, NYC & probably DC will be 'no-brainer' choices. The '94 USA World Cup was spread among 9 venues, so I assume it would be about the same this time around.
Of course, this all assumes that the USA is even chosen as host nation for 2018 or 2022...
