My favorite isn't in San Antonio, it's in Kerrville on the Guadalupe River and it has a huge patio to enjoy the scenery. It's worth the drive if you like exploring places away from SA.

ALMOST in town, we like to visit the one in Helotes on Highway 16 and watch the people who freaked out about having a WalMart but don't seem to have a problem with strip malls. Very interesting... even if it's a small store.

Blah! None. Starbucks coffee tastes like burnt dirt.

Local Coffee on Sonterra is great for both coffee AND ambiance.

Agreed about the coffee tasting like burnt dirt. However, I just discovered that you can make your vanilla bean frap NONFAT and it still tastes fabulous. Nice treat once in a while. As for my favorite--they all seem about the same. I usually stick to the one at Bandera/Guilbeau but I'm an in n' outer. I don't whip out the laptop and work on my novel, or people-watch. I gotta get a move-on.

I totally agree with this. I have been to several of these in different states, and have almost always had better service than I get in a regular Starbucks.

The one at Blanck / Hwy 1604. Because it's close to home

BTW are there any coffee places in the northside that are open late on friday / saturday? Late, as in 12am or later?

Jims???

Please tell me you're joking... otherwise I guess the espresso machine will continue to be a close friend. It looks like the travel is over for the time being very soon and I need to figure these things out down there.
