I live about equal distance from St. Lukes Baptist Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa, and North Central Hospital. I was wondering which has the best children's ER services. Hopefully I'll never have to ever visit one of these hospitals but I'd like to be prepared and know where to go just in case.

"Best" as in terms of what? I work as an RN in ERs before. Wait time in rather unpredictable and a lot of medicine is cookbook medicine in regards to protocol.

Because I live so close it it, N C Baptist would be my first choice, solely on the basis of proximity.
Otherwise, I would go to Methodist Children's.
However, most times we simply visit our urgent care center, if it is not an obviously life threatening situation. And most insurance plans would prefer that you do that, too

Not an ER, but we've been very pleased with the urgent care services at Little Spurs at 1604/Bandera. Sorry I'm not more help with an ER, we've thankfully not had many emergencies. GL!

It's probably best to ask your Pediatrician, they usually know what hospitals have staff they like, and capabilities they like.

As an adult, I had a bad experience at the North Central Baptist ER and I know someone who had two bad experiences there with her child. These occurred over five years ago, so hopefully things have improved since there. I would still choose a different ER for myself or a family member.

Another vote for Methodist Children's.
The ER was just recently completely upgraded.
Methodist Children's Hospital of South Texas: 1st Floor > ER Waiting Room
(I don't have any kids, but if I did, I'd send them there. I have several friends who've had their kids at Methodist, and are happy with their experience. I also work for Methodist, in the IT dept.)

Hence why I would go there due to proximity only. We have had good experiences in the children's ER (except for one doctor), but not so great in the adult. Unfortunately, Methodist Stone Oak does not see children.
