I'm moving to SA and will have a 6 month old baby when I do so. I love swimming and am looking to get my little one started young. I'm looking for recommendations for swimming pools that are great for babies - We have "teaching pools" here in the UK for the little kids, so something like that would be great. We'll more than likely be living in the North / North West area of SA, but for a decent swimming pool I don't mind travelling.

So tell me your fave pools & feel free to offer up horror stories of places to avoid too ;]

Thanks in advance guys 'n gals! x

Sounds like you might be interested in "Love to swim" school. It is in the NC area. Many subdivisions & apartment rentals also have pools.

if you are a member of Spectrum at Rogers Ranch they have a nice beach style pool with the gradual drop. But it is only open for summer.

I also recommend the Love to Swim and Tumble School. We love it there for my kiddo.

Alamo Heights Swimming pool has three pools including a baby pool. You don't have to be a resident to have access, only pony up the cash. They also have great actvities through out the summer, dive in movies, bocce ball, a diving pool, they even still do the much dreaded (as a kid anyway) adult swim.

Are there any indoor heated swimming pools for infants around?

Believe me, you do NOT need a heated pool. Its always so hot, the pool water feels warm. : ) 100 degree weather will do all the heating for you!

I guess I'm just so used to indoor pools for kids being heated that it feels weird looking for one that isn't, y'know?

I checked out the "Love to Swim" website and all I can tell is it's a teaching-only pool. I'm looking for a kid-friendly indoor pool where I can just go there any time with my kid and just have a swim together. I'm not overly interested in the lessons they offer as I have experience teaching kids to swim and plan to do that with my kid by myself.
