Looking for advice from someone who knows if this is a painful commute. Hubby and I are trying to find a place to relocate, and one of the places we really like is Chino Hills. Hubby would be commuting about 4:30 am from Chino Hills to Moreno Valley Monday through Friday, and leaving Moreno Valley anytime from 3pm til 6pm to drive back to Chino Hills.

Is this a horrible commute, or not so bad? We have lived in California in both Riverside and Moreno Valley in the recent years and know traffic can be bad at times, but we never drove this route. Please advise.

If they haven't imploded the old 215/60/91 interchange yet, the afternoon half of that commute will be hell.

They rebuilt the interchange 4 or 5 years ago, but I have no idea what it's like during the two drive times. My commute is approx 30'.

Fontucky is your commute about the same? From Moreno Valley to Chino Hills Area? I'm just wondering how long this commute will take in the afternoon, and if the traffic runs east to west in the afternoon on the 60, or would hubby be driving against traffic? He would be driving 60Westbound towards Chino Hills.

I live in Riverside about two minutes from the 60/215/91 interchange. It's a lot better since they rebuilt it. It does still back up though. A commute from Chino Hills to Moreno Valley would be reverse so it shouldn't be too bad. In the afternoons the 60 East is horrible and 215 North just past the interchange gets bad. He might hit a little traffic depending where he's at in Moreno Valley. If he has to take the 60 West to the 60/215 split he might hit a little there.

You may have already looked at it since you've lived in Riverside and Moreno Valley before, but I'd look at Canyon Crest, Mission Grove, and Orangecrest neighborhoods in Riverside. Super short commute to Moreno Valley and nice areas to live.

Driving from Chino Hills to Moreno Valley in the morning and from Moreno Valley to Chino Hills in the afternoon isn't bad at all from a traffic perspective, as you're going against traffic both ways. You'd be averaging the speed limit the entire way for the most part. The biggest problem is going to be the distance. You're talking about 45 miles each way, so including the surface street time to and from the freeway, it would be at least a hour each way (not to mention the 25K miles a year you'd be putting on your car). If you're going to do though, I'd definitely recommend the 60 and not the 91.

I repeat, my commute is 30', that's 30 feet.
