Hi I am looking to move to Menifie,Murrieta, or indio.
What I am interested in is the IID Services Is there a problem with this utility service provider is it over the top in $$$ . Also if there is a zip code for any of these areas that has a bad side of town I would love some input I did my research and from what I can tell they have a average /low crime rate. I have lived in Illinois all of my life I come from the city of Naperville. Looking to downsize and get out of the winter weather. If I have picked a bad city out of the three please let me know I have never lived outside of illinois.
Thanks for the input.

Default IID Utilities

I was reading about the utilities and there cost in summer months. I will be buying a home with a pool but I am not sure if the Utilities will cost more than the other service providers like MID,PG&E,SPP and should I be looking in a different area? Any information on this area of CA would be great so many different comments about city's and different insight. I am really concerned with crime, weather and cost of living.
thanks any info

Yup - IDD

Some cities in the Coachella and Imperial Valleys are supplied by both Edison and IDD. Sometimes it depends on what side of the street you're on.

I believe it was TwinkleToes that said IDD was much cheaper.

If you're only going on what you've read, I'd suggest coming out and seeing which area you prefer in person. Menifee and Murrieta are side by side, and very similar, but Indio is out in the desert and very different from the other two.

If you live in the Southwest part of Riverside County - Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula and Lake Elsinore - you're less than an hour from San Diego County and from Orange County, via the Ortega Highway - and you'll find that some of your neighbors work in those area and commute.

My toes were twinkling, so I knew somebody was talking about me.

Yes, Twinkie-Poo is on IID. MUCH cheaper than Edison and we don't have all the power outages!

I used to see the hand painted signs for Jacumba off Hwy. 18 out past Apple Valley and somebody told me it was a cult! LOL One day, out of curiosity, and for my own edification - to find out what KIND of cult ... I googled Jacumba and I found out it was a RESORT!!! I felt like such a dingbat!

I'll bet you anything the person who told you that got confused, and was actually thinking of Gilman Hot Springs, and not Jacumba Hot Springs - some people get J's and G's confused!

For anyone who doesn't know, Gilman Hot Springs used to be a resort when my Mom was growing up in San Jacinto, but it was bought in 1978 by the Church of Scientology, and is now the home of Golden Era Productions. It's not a cult - but some people refer to it as one.
