Hello,
I have seen other posts about pools but not in the area I am interested in. My husband just started a job in Rancho Cucamonga. My kids will be going to a Catholic school in Claremont. We are looking in the Upland, Claremont and Rancho Cucamonga. We are moving from Georgia where just about every neighborhood has a community pool and tennis courts. I have noticed it is rare to find that in this area we are looking at. If we don't buy a home with a pool, where do my kids go to swim? My realtor said there really aren't public pools. Also, my kids both would swim on a summer swim team and that appears not to exist in this area. Are there opportunities for kids not yet in high school to swim competitively?

So, I am interested in forum members thoughts on the pros vs. cons of owning a pool. Also, can someone give me a ballpark estimate of what it costs to maintain a pool on a monthly basis? Also, if we decide to buy without a pool but want one later, can anyone give me a ballpark range of the cost to install one?

Thanks.
