Hi, I'm new to the area and to this forum. I saw a similiar thread in the LA one, but my question is What's the dating scene like out here? All areas of the IE, big & small, I was just curious. So far it appears to be crickets to me. But then again I'm in the quiet part of Redlands near the canyons towards Beaumont & the opposite side of Moreno Valley......Just curious what views/opinions are & where its happening to where to stay away from. Thanx.

I'm not the type of person who's in the club, bar, lounge scenes, so I don't know how dating is w/ those places. I'm a member of a fitness club, which is another place people are known to meet people, but for me personally, it's not great either. People there are usually too young for me or if they're older, they're already probably married w/ kids.

I honestly have no idea where peope meet people. I gues through friends.

Thanks for replying, I didn't think I'd get any answers
But I agree, I don't know how people meet out here in the desert, although I was told to check out the community events & churchs (which is just as bad).

I do remember in my younger days, I use to go to a club in Riverside, I think it was either called the Metro or Club Rocks?? but now I'm older, not a club or party person anymore, I definitely rule out alcohol in meeting people, judgments not clear. I've also been told to check out Palm Springs, but then again its Casinos & party, I'm trying desparately to get away from that.

Its just that in LA it was easy to meet people, even if I was at the Gas Station, people come up to you and talk, or in certain areas where theres a large group of people around, but over here its really difficult....

Also, San Diego (was there a short term), it was really jumping, but then again you have military surrounding, amongst lots of people traveling from allover...that was short term too....

Todays gentlemen are no more, and the ladies.......they've all faded

Default Dating

Well try out the internet dating sites like E-Harmony.com meetlocals.com etc I recommend being selective about who you go out with, however. Thats my two cents

Take a group ballroom dance, salsa, or swing class and start going to the social dances. You'll meet a lot of very nice people who share a passion for dance - something that is fun, addictive, and healthy!

online dating (POF) is not a good idea most are only looking for FWB

I have been here a year, and have not had great success. A lot of the ones I came across are married-which is a big no-no or they have a lot of baggage. Others had mental problems. So I gave up on the ie dating scene(must be something in the water).

Patience, grasshopper. Give it more than three hours. Some people actually have jobs and don't put a priority on City-Data participation during their workday.
