Is $93,000 enough income to live in this area? How much is it to rent a 2 bedroom apartment? Is it easy to get a short sale home or a foreclosure? Are there jobs available or is unemployment still high?

That of course depends on how you want to live, but yes, most people would be able to live just fine on that in the areas you've listed.

Craiglist is the best place to look to get an idea about rent... inland empire apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist

No it's not at all easy. There's a lot of competition and a lot of hoops to jump through, and it takes forever. If you want easy you might want to look in the regular listings - you'll still find excellent deals - and skip the foreclosures and short sales.

93k is a fine income for the area, if you've got the job for it

Is this income just for one person or a family?

imho it's a fine family income, more than enough to buy a house with and be comfortable. of course if you roll in a hummer with 24in chrome rims and need to pay for your wifes boobjob that might not be a great income, so don't take it as universal advice

eh, boobjobs are cheap nowadays. They should set you back to much.

Had to laugh! I think you will be fine if you live moderately.

Property in this area is cheap these days largely due to a limited number of industries. Quality of life is pretty good. After high school there's not much for young people to do so alot of them gotta get out but for raising a family it's pretty good. Real estate, construction, furniture and those related industries have suffered big time and we who have watched it know the unemployment figures aren't really accurate because people who move away are no longer part of the data pool. A quality qualifying income in medical or from the military would be good. Alot of people still owe their lives and fortunes to the counties out west...

I have lived in Murrieta for 8 years now and we just love it here. We wouldn't live anywhere else and we have lived in a lot of places.

An income of $93,000 will give you a pretty comfortable lifestyle. Rents for 2BR apartments in Murrieta typically run from $850-1,000 /mo. Townhouses or condos are a little bit more.

Only if you are going into a rental. Average cost of yearly living for commuting air conditioning etc. Cost runs high.
