Of course Texas is great if you're a buyer ... not great if you're a seller.

According to Texas A&M, Texas homes only appreciated by 4 percent a year since 1990 ... about half the national average appreciation of 8 percent.

I can be anywhere I want. And I actually live in DFW (until December). Then I will be back in Houston. I just have a lot of ties to California, specifically the So Cal area (many on my mom's side of the family lives there. Even my mom lived in So Cal for a bit).

When we moved up to The High Desert over 10 years ago, it was Desert Country. Not a cluster of cars, crappy people, and drug/thug activity. We could hear and would see coyotes. It was their home, before it was ours. We miss the coyotes roaming around. We respect the Quail also and other wildlife. We still stop and let THEM cross the street! Now, we want out of this place we have called home, it has gotten too crowded with trash. The Mariachi and Rap music BLARING till all hours of the night, Did we move to San Bernardino or LA overnight?!

You should try out Houston, too. It is the cheapest and has the strongest economy in Texas.
