Hello everyone, Ive been looking at the areas of San Berndino County Area. I have a Job in the Downtown San Bernardino revolving around the city's tech sector. I will be leaving Irvine this July and relocating for this Job.

It seems to me that San Bernardino the county is split up between Ontario area, San Bernardino Area, and Victorville area.

I am thinking of moving to the north part of San Bernardino in this new area called Rosena Ranch. Since I would think it's best to live in the city I work in.

Should I also look into

-Apple Valley?
-Ontario Ranch?
-Rancho Cucamonga?

I found this video on YouTube

Titled: Rancho Cucamonga - Inland Empire Southern California
Video Link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSNKz60HWTY

I feel like Rancho Cucamonga is just perfect in terms of a suburban lifestyle based on that video.
Should I give Rosena Ranch of San Bernardino a try?

Thank You! For any feedback, I hope whatever city I live in I can make a difference in the community/schools!

It makes me very sad to see what Rancho Cucamonga has become. I lived there from about 64 to 75. Junior high school to five years after or so. It was just good ole Cucamonga then. Very small little town surrounded by Citrus groves and vinyards. The best memories of my life are from there. The whole surrounding area is just one big Metropolis now. Can't really comment on living there now, but I would probably pick it over any where else in the area especially if I could move back to Red Hill. It's about the only place that hasn't changed too much over the years. There's some newer housing developments now, but the older neighborhood on the top hasn't changed much.

RC is a great area but much more expensive the San Bernardino. Ontario Ranch is also nice but still has some dairy farms in the area so may be smelly for some time yet. Most areas west of the 15 Freeway are nice but expensive since closer to LA.

Thank you for the feedback I just toured the areas didn't realize the cow smell of Ontario Ranch but saw a Lambo haha. So far I think I am going to stick to renting out in Rosena Ranch of San Bernardino and then buy. The area is new and I also may soon have the option to work remotely YAY! I do have to agree it is sad to see change but on the plus side If Elon Musk builds his underground freeways aka Boring to free up the freeways and possibly get rid of all taxes/property taxes replaced by casino money/non-profits to solve the housing cost issue we can make SOCAL even better #optimism.

Read this thread I started about Rancho Cucamonga:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/san-b...populated.html

And regarding that video you posted above, most of it shows the one & only not that big outdoor shopping mall that RC has. Of course, they'll portray it to look like this pleasant, carefree, NON-CROWDED mall. I wish it was like that all the time. They must have picked the rare Monday afternoon to film that video when it wasn't crowded that one time.

I worked at a tech sector job in San Bernardino in the Hospitality Lane area, commuting from Alta Loma near Chaffey College. It was an easy commute after the completion of the 210 freeway. Traffic along the 10 becomes congested at the junction with the 15, but still it is better than driving westbound in the AM and eastbound in the PM.

Don't worry about the "overpopulated" thread. A lot of people feel like communities should stop growing after their subdivision has been built.

I live on Ontario Ranch and I love it personally. I purchased a new construction home by Brookfield. The smell of the dairy farms has gotten a lot better since I’ve been looking at homes in 2016. I personally don’t notice it anymore, but I know people not from the area do. I moved from LA county here a year ago; still working in LA. Rancho is nice, it’s established and has good retail and dining. I also looked at Rosena Ranch as well when I was home shopping. You get more for your money, but it is a little further from work than I would like. Also there isn’t retail as close and it gets VERY windy.

Victorville area you will definitely get a LOT for your money. My mom had a home there in oak hills and she loved it and still wants to go back. But she likes the rural aspect. For you coming from Irvine I think it would be a big adjustment.

Ontario ranch is like Irvine ranch 30 years ago; farmland being developed into homes. Another comparison would be Cerritos. Cerritos used to be dairy farms in the past before they built all the homes. And ironically the cows from Cerritos were moved to chino and Ontario.

They are building a new marketplace in my neighborhood that will serve the local residents. Retail is easily accessible in Eastvale. And for more shopping and dining you would most likely travel up to Rancho to Victoria gardens. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

As far as overpopulated, I agree with bear down. Every community will be more crowded as the years go on. All these neighborhoods started from nothing to 100’s of thousands of people. It’s going to happen everywhere, just depends on when.

Good luck!
