I'm a first-time home buyer. Here are my specs: I'm in my 20s Single Mexican-American from Mission Viejo. I'm curious about the Lake Elsinore communities of Tuscany Hills, Alberhill Ranch, Rosetta Canyon, etc. I don't have kids so schools are not an issue. I get that LE has an image problem. However, I really like the feel of the town and the size of the houses. I'm not at all considering Murietta, Temecula, etc

So my question is whether those LE communities have a real upside? Are neighbors friendly? Are those neighborhoods safe?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

G

LE isn't much of a place for singles in their 20's.

You definitely won't be the only Mexican-American (not sure why you mentioned this).

Around the time it was being built, Tuscany's new residents liked to brag about it.

Upside is that it's cheaper than Murrieta, Temecula, and Corona.

The neighbors will likely be the same neurotic Southern California types you're already used to. Maybe a smidgen more laid back if they don't have to do the combat commute to OC. Safety would be about average.

What is your attraction to LE? Will you be commuting somewhere?

Spoiler
Ironically, I recently had a dream that my family and I bought a tract home in LE. It seemed nice enough in the dream.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm afraid I wouldn't escape the horrible commute to South OC. This may be the deal breaker! The 74 highway is a beautiful drive but may be a son of a gun on a weekday.

LE's new communities just have that quiet friendly appearance but as you pointed out it may be just be fitting for a dream

That is an understatement.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
