San Jacinto is definitely IE, especially if Hemet or Perris is.

I even go as far to consider the Victor Valley an honorary part of the IE.....

Is that a good or bad thing?

Let me rephrase the question.

Would you live in the IE?

I withdraw the question.

Depends where. We live in the IE and love it. However there are parts of the IE where we would never live.

If I had other choices, no. The idea of going back home before trying everywhere else doesn't seem too appealing to me.

If I let my weird curiosity to re-experience the first 20 years of my life take over, yes.

If you tell me I can live in the SB mountains and call it IE, then all bets are off.

Dude, this is CA. You can call it whatever you want.

We have the choice of being able to live pretty well wherever we want but we far prefer to live right here which is why we chose it.

Now, if I had to commute to OC or San Diego then I wouldn't live here as commuting is not something I like to do. But we don't need to commute anywhere so traffic is not a problem for us. We lived in San Diego and the San Francisco Bay area before moving here. We like San Diego and the Bay area a lot but this area suits our preferences the best.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the IE.

I'm a native of Corona, and after growing up and leaving, I can now recognize that there is a quality-of-life to be had there, and I do miss it. And I miss the food even more. But I won't go back, because I've decided I need a more alpine climate. And an income. And an affordable abode. And less traffic, less smog, and cooler summers.

But that's just me, and if the IE works for you, that's great!
